Grab your friends and colleagues and head over to Highland Court for a retro-experience in an unusual locale.
Hennepin Theatre Trust and presenting sponsor Bank of America activated the newest Parklot in Highland Court, 811 LaSalle Avenue, street level. The latest pop-up park – also known as a Parklot – transforms an underused space into a pop-up movie lounge for the public.
The Parklot setting features a 70-inch flat-screen TV, midcentury modern loveseats and dinette sets, retro movie posters, red velvet curtains and a vintage marquee. A variety of films will play on a loop to entice passersby to pause and take a break.
Housed inside the retail, restaurant and office building known as Highland Court, the movie-themed Parklot is a great fit with the current mix of tenants. Candyland is nearby along with a pizza place – all great offerings that pair well with a movie or short break.
And for those office dwellers who don’t want to go outside in the winter, Highland Court is accessible via skyway.
The Parklot series turns underused spaces into inviting public gathering areas for anyone to stop by, lounge, read, play a game or meet up with friends. To date, Bank of America has sponsored five Parklots throughout WeDo in collaboration with the Trust.
