Did you know …
Disney’s The Lion King got its start right here in Minneapolis 19 years ago before heading to Broadway? Crazy, right?
Frank Wright II, who understudies ‘Mufasa’ and is a swing cast member, has been with the production since the very beginning. He remembers Minneapolis fondly and the sense of curiosity the entire show had with what The Lion King could become.
Today, he’s proud to still be part of “the biggest media event in the history of the world” and gets emotional about his return visits to Minneapolis.
When asked how he feels about the Orpheum Theatre and Minneapolis, he exclaims “it is a part of The Lion King as much as Lion King is part of the global world.”
