“In general, I think art is a good way to reflect on social issues and to expand your thinking. You can
change people’s views without standing on a soapbox — it [art] brings people together, too."
“People have this stigma that art is something that’s not for them, but it’s for everybody. Whether
you’re a beginner artist or seasoned artist … there’s something for everyone. I think Minneapolis is
very unique in that way. It’s not too big of a city where you’re competing for space — there’s
definitely enough here."
“I like the Walker. I like taking walks and biking around — Minneapolis is a very bike-friendly city. Not
only that, you get to see a lot of cool things if you take the time and look, especially now that all this
stuff is going on Hennepin Avenue. You get to see new things every few months … it revolves,
changes, ebbs and flows.”
“Bringing different people together to have different experiences is always a good thing … that makes
people really think about other people. It also opens people up to experiencing each other in their
celebratory state. I’m excited for 5 to 10 on Hennepin – it’s going to bring out a lot of different
people that normally wouldn’t hang out on Hennepin Avenue past a certain time. It gives them a
reason to stay downtown instead of going to Uptown or leaving after work.”
